Mission
Prevent Support Empower
Our mission at Fondation Jeunes en Tête is to prevent psychological distress among youth aged 11 to 18 in Quebec.
We accomplish this mission by reaching out to teenagers in schools through our Partners for Life program, and by supporting recognized community organizations that complement our work. We also create a synergy among all youth advocates and stakeholders in order to maximize our joint impact on young people.
Our spokesperson
Stéphane Bellavance made his TV debut at the same time as the early days of VRAK.TV. He became popular among young people because of the shows Réal-it, Réal-tv, A+, Méchant changement, Le Steph Show, Tu vas y goûter, Karv l'anti-gala and Arranges-toi avec ça!
A talented host, Stéphane has been co-hosting the popular science game show Génial on Télé-Québec with Martin Carli since 2010. In 2015, he joined Radio-Canada and started running Par Ici L'Eté, a summer daily broadcast. The following year, while hosting the popular quiz show Au Suivant, he realized one of his biggest dreams: working for Radio-Canada’s legendary studio 42.
Jack of all trades, Stéphane loves exploring all facets of his profession. Games, entertainment, directing, writing, teaching, and production bring many projects his way, and he dedicates himself to all of them. Stéphane approaches all of his projects with passion and happiness.
This winter, it is in this same way that he joins the team at Rythmez vos matins, on the Rythme FM airwaves.

Identity
History
Fondation Jeunes en Tête is the marriage of two strong and credible organizations—both of which have been committed to the wellbeing of young people for almost 60 years. Here are their respective stories:
The Mental Illness Foundation
This foundation started in 1980 under the guidance of Dr. Yves Lamontagne, an eminent psychiatrist who chaired the Collège des médecins du Quebec for many years.
Over time, the Mental Illness Foundation supported the advancement of research and awarded various postdoctoral grants. It has been the source of funding for the Fernand-Seguin Research Centre, named in honour of the famous scientist. The Fernand-Seguin Research Centre now has close to 75 researchers and associate researchers from different disciplines, and focuses on knowledge building and the development of treatments for various mental illnesses.
Without a doubt, the Mental Illness Foundation’s most notable achievement is the Partners for Life program.
This initiative, which was originally intended to raise the awareness about depression of students at the grades 9 to 11, was enriched in 2019 by a presentation aimed at young people at the grades 7 to 8 to foster good mental health.This program, which has been recognized and praised by the scientific community, reaches nearly 48,500 people each year—including parents of young participants, school workers and social workers at the CLSCs. In fact, since 1998, more than one million young people and their entourage have been exposed to this message of hope!

Fondation Québec Jeunes
This foundation traces its roots back to the Promexpo Foundation, which was founded in 1995 by business people gathered around Mr. Pierre Parent, then president of the company Promexpo.
Since 1995, Fondation Québec Jeunes devoted itself to promoting the physical and mental wellbeing of poor and homeless young people. It was renamed Fondation alcoolisme, drogues et dépendance in 2002, and then Fondation Québec Jeunes in 2004.
Since then, Fondation Québec Jeunes supported projects and resources that helped young people between the ages of 11 and 17 who are in difficulty or in need of help. In 2016, $883,000 was raised thanks to the generosity of major business donors and the general public; the money was shared and put to good use by 60 youth support partners from across Quebec.
A few years ago, Fondation Québec Jeunes launched the Prix Inspiration award to highlight the work done by exceptional organizations. Learn more here.
The new Fondation Jeunes en Tête is the perfect union between two incredible foundations that share a strong vision—the wellbeing and mental health of young people. United as one, Fondation Jeunes en Tête will build an innovative, philanthropic path to maximize its social impact.

Facilitator positions for the Partners For Life program: every spring and summer, we recruit a total of 8 to 10 youth facilitators. We post the position between May and July, and contracts run from September to June.
