RBC will donate $500,000 to the Fondation Jeunes en Tête over the next 5 years!

Particularly sensitive to the subject of mental health among young people, RBC confirmed in 2019 a long-term commitment to the Fondation Jeunes en Tête: $ 500,000 which will contribute, over the next five years, to preventing psychological distress in adolescents.

Enable young people to reach their full potential

In recent years, RBC has made numerous major financial commitments to hospitals, universities and organizations in Quebec in projects related to young people and mental health, in order to assure them a peaceful future.

By funding our Partners for Life program, RBC is demonstrating the value of investing in prevention among young people. Thanks to this program, which is offered free of charge in schools across the province, the Foundation team meets nearly 52,000 young people each year: our leaders educate junior high school students about good mental health habits and inform high school students on the signs and symptoms of depression, while equipping them to cope better.

RBC will also finance the development of counseling tools, soon to be offered on our website, for those around young people (parents, grandparents, school staff, etc.), thus demonstrating that teenagers' mental health is everyone's business.

Precious and faithful support

RBC's support for the cause of young people is not new: while the bank already supported the initiatives of our two Mother Foundations before their merger (the Mental Illness Foundation as well as Quebec Youth), many of its members also involved with our organization over the years. This is particularly the case of Ms. Nadine Renaud-Tinker, President, Quebec Branch, RBC Royal Bank, who sits on our board of directors since 2016 and who testifies:

We cannot remain indifferent to mental health. As a mother of two young children, the mission of the Fondation Jeunes en Tête particularly meets my values. In fact, for over 14 years, I have been involved in various causes relating to youth mental health in order to make a real difference in the community and our families. For several years, RBC has also supported the initiatives of Jeunes en tête. This commitment is particularly close to my heart. By working together, we can create winning conditions to provide a brighter future for troubled young adolescents. This is so that they can also dream and contribute to the advancement of the world in which they live.

Éric Bujold, Chairman of the Board of Directors and President of National Bank Private Wealth 1859, also shares this feeling:

The support of major donors like RBC is essential to the accomplishment of our mission. This is what gives impetus to big ideas and makes possible the most beautiful projects! The contribution of RBC, which takes place over time, will allow us to meet thousands of young people and to change lives: whether it is for them, or for a loved one, they will be better equipped to cope to the difficulties that can be encountered in a lifetime.
